ABOUT MY PRACTICE
I offer Telehealth counseling to adult individuals that are residents of Kentucky. I offer a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I have gained knowledge and experience that I would love to share with you to help you find a more satisfying life. Typical issues I help clients deal with include:
anxiety
depression
relationship issues
adjusting to life changes
grief
trauma (EMDR therapy)
At the first session, we will get to know each other and I will learn about what brings you to counseling. It is important that we both feel the relationship is a good fit for you. That is important because you need to feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings with me. I will also need to ask questions about your mental and physical health history. After that we will establish goals that will help you reach your optimal level of functioning.
The following sessions will be about you working on your issues, mainly through talking to me and describing what is going on inside you. I will offer guidance and suggestions to help you articulate those. I also have some tools and strategies I can offer you to help you gain more control. I will not tell you what to do. I will help you decide for yourself what actions you need to take.

ABOUT ME
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and have been in the field since 1995. I have worked in a variety of placements, but my heart is in individual counseling with adults. Most of us have challenging times in our lives. I can offer support during those times. Having a safe space where you can speak freely without being judged or feeling like you have to filter what you say can be the best way to figure out next steps. I offer that safe space. I have knowledge gained from experience and training that I allows me to offer a different perspective. I also can offer strategies and knowledge that you will hopefully find helpful.
I believe human beings have a great capacity for resilience and self-healing. I am intrigued by my clients’ stories and feel it a privilege to work with them as they find their way to resolving their issues and finding a better quality of life. I don’t tell clients what to do, but rather facilitate their journey toward their goals.
I started off as a school counselor for adolescents. I quickly found the part of the job I liked best was working individually with students. That led me to pursue a clinical license and a doctorate in the field of counseling psychology. I have served in many capacities as a professional counselor. I also recently retired from serving as a professor, training and mentoring counseling students. Now I am ready to go back to my passion of individual counseling.
